Safari Under the Stars is an annual event held by Brevard Zoo, which helps raise funds used to care for their growing animal population. As a private not-for-profit, Brevard Zoo does not receive government funds and relies upon the generous support of the community.
The weather held out for a fun evening at the home of Ed and Jeanne Andre, as supporters helped raise funds for the Cancer Care Centers Foundation. Proceeds will help support cancer victims and their families who suffer financial difficulties due to medical expenses or inability to work.
Almost 150 people attended a special thank you party for sponsors of the Health First Benefit Ball, which will benefit Health First Hospice. This year’s event took place at the beautiful home of Dr. and Mrs. Steven Karas. As of Thursday night, $360,000 had been donated by 134 generous sponsors.
The Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame now has a new home at Maverick Sports Grill & Bar in Merritt Island. To celebrate, an opening event was held Thursday, February 7th where new inductees where honored. Proceeds from the event benefited the Health First Foundation.
This past Saturday almost 200 people turned out to help support Devereux as they celebrated their 100th anniversary, and 25 years of serving children with special needs and their families.
Funds raised at the event will help construct a 21,000 square foot therapeutic, multi-purpose wellness, learning and activity center for children, specifically those struggling with emotional, behavioral, learning and developmental disabilities.
The event also honored the Duda family for their 25 years of support.
Grape Escape, a Health First Foundation fundraiser, moved south this year to scenic Palm Beach Gardens, where over 260 guests enjoyed a fabulous seven course meal paired with fine wines. The event took place at Seasons 52 and raised nearly $300,000 that will help purchase vascular imaging technology.

Almost 200 guests poured into the Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi dealership on Saturday night for First Crush, a Health First Foundation fundraiser which raised over $18,000 for heart-related technological advances.
The event served as a prelude for the Foundation’s annual Grape Escape, a spectacular wine and food event, which will take place in Palm Beach Gardens this coming October.
Over 460 guests attended the 30th annual Health First Foundation Benefit Ball. Thanks to generous community support, proceeds including in-kind donations reached $255,000 for Telemedicine and Emergency Services at all four Health First hospitals. This year’s event, Ancient Egypt, Treasures of the Nile, took place at the FIT Clemente Center and featured decorations by Link Johnsten of Eau Gallie Florist.
